Searching for a BE/BC Pulm/CC(optional)/Sleep(optional) Physician in Southwest VA for a Great Solo Practice. Choice of Hospital Employment or Private Practice. This desirable opportunity will allow the ideal candidate to begin a new service line for the hospital with autonomy and medical staff support. Mix of inpatient and outpatient work. Critical care experience would be a plus, but not required. Solid hospitalist program and primary care referral base in place. General pulmonology will be the basis for this practice with an opportunity to establish a PFT lab in the near future.Expect to see 20-25 patients per day while practicing in only one hospital. The ideal candidate will support the community as a solo practitioner and support the ICU staff and physicians/hospitalists in a consulting role. Will not be responsible for extensive hospital call, even though the candidate will be the only pulmonologist in the market (call is 1:3 or less). Hospital has a sleep lab onsite, if sleep studies are desired. Patients presenting with emphysema, COPD, pneumonia and various lung diseases are common in this market. Community needs assessment identifies the need for 1 pulmonologist in the market. Strong support from medical staff. No other pulmonologist providing coverage.
