Pulmonology Opportunity in Northern Indiana - Between Detroit & Chicago!!
Practice Description: Primary care adult internal medicine in a community of 50,000 with a county service area of 165,000. Only multi-specialty clinic in county, offering 17 medical/surgical specialties. Strong internal medicine tradition. Assuming a practice of departing pulmonary specialist. This opportunity involves outpatient practice located in a physician-owned multi-specialty group practice.
Training: University internal medicine and pulmonary program.
Caseload Averages: Average 15-20 patients per day.
Office: 4 1/2 days per week in office. Hospital: Limited call
Salary Range: $320,000 to $350,000 depending on experience.
Reimbursement Environment: No managed care contracts, excellent fee for service reimbursement (well above Medicare) from all commercial and PPO insurance companies.
Residency/ Fellowship preferences: BE/BC - Completion of internal medicine and pulmonary residency expected to be board certified at time of hire or within three years of hire. No J1 applicants eligible. H1B visa's acceptable.
Number of existing physicians in specialty: 1 Pulmonologist in the community employed by local hospital.
Description of Practice environment (number of patient rooms, staff compliment, equipment available): Two-exam rooms plus private office; one RN or LPN and receptionist/secretary with two other primary care internal medicine physicians in a "pod" arrangement. Oversight PFT
Description of Hospital environment (as it applies to your specialty): Modern, financially strong, full service 320-bed single community hospital affiliated with Health System. Closed 28 bed ICU as directed by PULM/CC. Hospital located less than 1 mile from Clinic. Full time hospitalist and intensive care services in place. Good working relationships with hospital administration and medical staff in our community.
