We are currently recruiting a Director of MICU & Stroke Center
Department of Medicine with 120 inpatient beds, 22 bed MICU/CCU, is a very busy service with 12000 discharges annually and 100000 outpatient visits. The inpatient service staffed with hospitalists has the lowest length of stay in HHC. MICU is staffed 24X7 by an attending with qualification in pulmonary and critical care.
Responsibilities: Director of MICU and Stroke Center oversees management of the patients admitted with critical medical illnesses in an MICU with average daily census of around 15 patients. Total number of admissions per year is around 1500. Responsibilities include operations, ensuring adequate staffing in the Unit, performance improvement, collection of data regarding diagnosis, management and outcome, analysis of the data and generation of reports on monthly basis, teaching of residents and house staff, and participation in research activities.
Qualifications: Board certification and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, with several years experience in clinical practice.
