Allergy & Immunology Job Details Apply for Job
Description Our client hospital is assisting a general surgery practice of three existing surgeons to recruit an associate for a practice involved in elective general surgery and acute care surgery to include trauma. The position provides a unique lifestyle balance, due to the high reimbursement of the trauma cases. This is an excellent opportunity to join a new and thriving medical community in one of the fastest growing suburbs of the Denver metropolitan area. Each month, the new surgeon will be expected to work six to eight 24-hour shifts at Parker Adventist Hospital (Level III) and at a satellite hospital in Frisco, Colorado (Level III). ICU privileges are available. Additionally, the new surgeon will join the current surgeon in an office-based elective general surgery practice. The new physician will share overhead and work with the current surgeons to build the practice as equals. There is no partnership track. Parker Adventist Hospital offers state-of-the-art facilities (the hospital opened in 2004), highly rated patient satisfaction and exceptionally well run operating room services. The hospital recently added a new wing with new operating suites and an 18-bed ICU. Surgeons are free to work with any number of M.D. anesthesiologists, since the hospital operates with an “open model” medical staff. Parker Adventist Hospital has developed an Ambulatory Surgery Center as a joint venture with members of the medical staff. Shares are still available for interested investors. THE PRACTICE: VOLUME: Trauma: average 2-3 cases on each shift in Parker and 3-5 cases in Frisco. The elective surgery practice currently averages 10-15 cases per week. ON CALL: 1 in 4 for the group’s own patients, plus trauma call as described above. LOCATION/SCHEDULE: • The practice is located in a new medical office building attached to the hospital • In office two to three ½ days per week, the remainder in surgery and on trauma call COMPENSATION: The practice will offer a competitive income guarantee to assist the new surgeon in establishing his practice. Trauma call includes a stipend of $750-1,000 per day. The practice benefits from a higher reimbursement level for all surgery directed through the trauma service, which is exempt from managed care plans. Full benefits, including health insurance, malpractice, paid time off and CME will be included in the package. Relocation assistance will also be provided.
