The medical center admits 1200 trauma patients with 15% penetrating trauma as an undesignated trauma center that is moving strongly to ACS verification and designation in the North Carolina Trauma System.
The busy emergency room provides ample cases and complexity for the growing emergency general surgery component of the program. Medical Center serves 6+ counties with a population of 375k.
There is a full complement of orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons and interventional radiologists supporting the trauma program in addition to unwavering support from the administrative team.
