There is an opportunity to join one fulltime Urologist in a 50 physician multi-specialty group. They are looking to add another due to unmet patient load, plus the current physician is in the “range” of retirement within the next few years. They are looking for a general urologist and fellowship training is not required. There is the ability to perform laparoscopic surgery, though there is not a surgical robot available.
The current Urologist takes call everyday for his own clinic patients and that may be shared with the new urologist. He is also currently on call only 10 days a month for the hospital. There is EMR throughout the clinic with computers in each room. There is also on-site lab and diagnostic imaging. The clinic is attached to the 125 bed hospital. Big plus to the opportunity is that there is a steady referral stream of more than 30 primary care providers between the clinic and hospital who refer directly to the specialists. There are about 115 physicians on the medical staff.
First year guarantee in the $370-$400K range, plus there is an incentive structured into the first year employment agreement. There is the opportunity for partnership after 1 year. Possible signing bonus, loan repayment and stipend during residency with a signed contract are all open to discussion.
